Chiropractic Technique

Chiropractic care is so much more than just back pain, neck pain and headaches. Chiropractic care enables your nervous system (the super computer controlling your whole body), to function as it was designed, and in the most optimal way possible free from nerve interference.

Here at Momentum Chiropractic, we primarily use the Diversified chiropractic adjusting technique, which is one of the most widely used techniques in the whole profession. We also use a combination of Thompson and Gonstead chiropractic techniques to allow us to tailor your care as specifically as possible, enabling the most precise analysis and vertebral subluxation correction. Using these techniques, we can help remove any nerve interference occurring as a result of these vertebral subluxations, and help enable your body to adapt, heal and function as it was designed to do.

Dr Jayden loves to help our practice members of all ages (newborns to elderly), making sure there nervous system is functioning as optimally as possible and free from nerve interference. We also regularly care for pregnant moms with chiropractic care before becoming pregnant, during their pregnancy and after the birth of their children to help create an optimal environment for their body and the developing baby. Dr Jayden is certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association in the Webster technique, a specific chiropractic technique designed to help specifically in the care and management of our pregnant patients.

The Adjustment

What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a safe, non-invasive procedure to realign the spine and joints. Chiropractors use controlled force to make precise alignments that help restore proper performance of the neuromusculoskeletal system. This enhances motion, improves nervous system function, and relieves pain caused by misalignments.

What Happens During a Chiropractic Adjustment?

Before a chiropractic adjustment, your chiropractor will begin by evaluating your spine and joints to identify misaligned or restricted areas before making the necessary targeted adjustments, typically using their hands. Sometimes–in the case of excessive muscle spasm or pain–your chiropractor may use tools or supportive therapies for your adjustment.

Here’s what you can expect during the process:
  • Initial evaluation: You’ll begin with a discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle. Your chiropractor may perform posture analysis, orthopedic tests, and spinal palpation to pinpoint problem areas.
  • Positioning: You’ll be guided into a specific position depending on which area is being adjusted—often lying face down, on your side, or sitting upright to allow access to the affected joint.
  • The Adjustment: Using their hands or a small instrument, your chiropractor will apply a controlled, gentle and specific correction to a joint that is not moving properly. Sometimes this may create a popping sound, which is simply gas releasing from the joint space—a normal and harmless part of the process.
  • Reassessment: After the adjustment, your chiropractor may reassess your movement, posture, or pain levels to evaluate immediate improvements.
  • Follow-Up Care: Depending on your condition, you might receive stretches, mobility exercises, posture advice, or recommendations for future visits to support long-term healing and alignment.
